The Institute of Crisis Management Studies is a newly established centre for academia focusing on management of crises, those occurring both as a result of human activity and natural causes. It offers a unique, multidisciplinary Master of Arts in Crisis Management, providing the very best national and international scholars, practitioners and experts currently engaged in the diverse areas pertaining to crisis. The ICMS also offers trainings, simulation exercises and field visits, not only as part of the curriculum but as practical exercises for a range of different governmental and non-governmental organizations and initiatives.

Our dedication to producing crisis managers means a commitment to undertaking and facilitating the very newest research in the subject and providing a forum for policy dialogues and symposiums into current issues relating to crisis. Responsibilities;
The Samarpan Academy Institute of Crisis Management Studies (ICMS) is looking for a faculty member to teach its "Biological and Ecological Disaster" module for a two/three-month period to commence on 15th April 2014. This subject provides the scientific basis to understand the world's most challenging issues of ecology, environment, bio-terrorism and chemical disaster information and many other pressing societal problems. Students will be able to understand the processes of ecological balance, chemical or biological characteristics of the environment that affect human life and other living organisms. After completion of the course, students will:
· gain knowledge on ecological and biological theory, concepts, and natural causes as well as man-made or anthropogenic causes
· understand ecological and social tradeoffs inherent in natural resource management
· understand the history of man-made ecological disasters that have taken place in the past and which have caused heavy loss of human life and caused financial losses of high magnitude.
There are possibilities for online lecturing via direct video conference and for individuals to come to Nepal under the remuneration stipulations outlined below.
The following Units make up the module:
Ecology (12 hrs); Ecology/Environmental Disasters (12 hrs); Biological Disasters-Bio Terrorism (12 hrs); (12 hrs); Basic Introduction to Chemical Disasters (12 hrs).
Required Qualifications and Experience;
A PhD in a related field; PhD candidates or Master's graduates in a related subject with experience and publication history are also encouraged to apply.
Remuneration: Lodging, food, and local transportation allowance for the duration of the three-month period. Start Date: 30th Oct, 2014
