AGIAMONDO is one of nine institutions in Germany recognised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) that deploys development workers in accordance with the German Development Aid Workers Act (EhfG).
AGIAMONDO recruits qualified development workers for church and non-state development cooperation projects. In the Civil Peace Service, AGIAMONDO also develops peacebuilding programmes together with partner organisations in countries affected by conflict. The Voluntary International Services (fid) office advises support organisations on establishing and expanding their international voluntary services and lobbies for them politically.
Your tasks
- You will support the further training of employees of the Diocese of Moroto in dealing with land rights issues, particularly in the areas of land surveying, documentation of property claims and the use of geoinformation systems.
- With your technical expertise in the above-mentioned areas, you will support the activities of the Land Department in non-violent conflict resolution, especially in the context of land conflictmediation.
- You will strengthen the strategic planning of the activities of the Land Unit of the Diocese of Moroto.
- You will support networking, coordination and cooperation between different actors working on land rights in the region.
- You will be responsible for the proper spending and administration of CPS funds on the ground in accordance with donor guidelines and AGIAMONDO requirements. You will work in partnership with the land department of the Diocese of Moroto.
Your profile
- You have a university degree in geography, agriculture, forestry, environmental or climate sciences, sustainable development or a comparable specialisation.
- You are characterised by knowledge of land surveying and a confident use of geographicinformation systems (GIS).
- You have experience of working outside Europe, ideally in Africa.
- You are fluent in English and have a car driving licence.
- Experience in organising and conducting training coursesand workshops is desirable.
- Knowledge and experience in participatory methods of conflict management and transformation are a bonus.
- You are an EU citizen or Swiss national and, as a member of a Christian church, you are committed to the goals and concerns of church development and peace work
