The Summer School in Poverty Eradication: Access to Land, Access to Food, taking place 1-4 September, 2014, is organized by theGraduate School of Economics and International Relations - ASERI of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in collaboration with ExpoLAB. The Summer School offers a multidisciplinary perspective, covering:
- Legal and Institutional Framework: Right to food as a human right; Access to land: investments, land tenure and land grabbing; FAO Voluntary Guidelines on the Governance of Tenure.
- Land, water, food: policies and institutions for a sustainable development: Poverty, inequality and food security; Land conflict management; Reducing food losses while protecting human health and the environment; Water management and rural development.
- Cross-cutting issues on poverty eradication and food security: Food safety to promote food security; Access to land for women; Land, Forestry and Indigenous rights; Climate change and agriculture.
Participants will have the chance to analyse the topics and exchange experiences with experts from:
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)
International Land Coalition (ILC)
Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights
Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore
International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC)
